Above the treeline,
the world goes quiet.

Velmont was never meant to be a resort. In 1962 it was a single timber refuge at 2 400 metres, kept by a family who believed a mountain should be earned. Three generations later, forty chalets stand where the refuge did — and the mountain is still private.

Days here are measured in first tracks and long lunches. The pistes close to the public at dusk; after that, the mountain belongs to the house — moonlit descents, torchlit fondue, and the hush of snowfall on cedar roofs.
